Clinical application scenarios

1. Mid stage leveling:

After aligning the nickel titanium wires, replace them with stainless steel round wires (0.016/0.018) to further level and stabilize the dental arch.

2. Root control and torque:

Stainless steel square wire is used in the later stage of orthodontic treatment to accurately control the inclination of the tooth axis and root position, improving bite.

3. Closing gap:

0.019 × 0.025 stainless steel square wire with sliding method/closing curve, efficiently closing the tooth extraction gap.

4. Maintenance and Preservation:

Before the end of treatment, use fine round wire (0.016) to stabilize the dental arch, or make a fixed retention wire.

5. Auxiliary bending:

Straight wire can be used to bend boot profiles, traction hooks, torque bends, etc., for lowering front teeth and adjusting bite.

Key points and precautions for use

Selection order:

Follow the sequence of "from fine to coarse, from round to square, from soft to hard", initially use nickel titanium, replace with stainless steel round wire in the middle, and use square wire in the later stage.

Disinfection:

Before use, high-pressure sterilization or alcohol wiping should be used for one-time use to avoid cross infection.

Placement and fixation:

After the archwire is in place, bend the end back and fix it to the bracket with a ligature/rubber band to prevent sliding and puncturing of the mucosa.

Taboo:

Prohibited for severe crowding with initial alignment; Use with caution for those allergic to stainless steel.
