Design Features

The flat tip facilitates vertical pressure transmission, compacting softened gutta-percha apically toward the root apex. The instrument features a round cross-section, a smooth thread-free body and no cutting edges. It is color-coded or numerically marked and supplied in assorted-size kits. The working tip diameter perfectly matches the taper of pre-shaped root canals.

Clinical practice

Mainly used for vertical root canal obturation. Insert the instrument vertically into the root canal and apply steady downward pressure to compact gutta-percha apically, filling apical voids and eliminating cavities, thus achieving dense, airtight obturation. It can be used together with lateral pluggers to accomplish complete three-dimensional hermetic filling.
