Metal Buccal Tube Functioning As Dedicated Brackets For Posterior Teeth

The buccal tube can be welded or bonded to the side of the band, creating a passage for the archwire. Functioning as dedicated brackets for posterior teeth, buccal tubes are designed to hold and secure the archwire, while also facilitating traction and sliding mechanics for retraction. As core components in the posterior segment of full-arch orthodontic treatment, they are commonly used in conjunction with bands, ligature ties, elastomeric chains, and anchorage systems

    Product Introduction

Buccal tubes are typically made of metal. Orthodontic bands are ring-shaped, while buccal tubes are tubular. They can be used as separate components or assembled together via welding or bonding. The buccal tube can be welded or bonded to the side of the band, creating a passage for the archwire. Functioning as dedicated brackets for posterior teeth, buccal tubes are designed to hold and secure the archwire, while also facilitating traction and sliding mechanics for retraction. As core components in the posterior segment of full-arch orthodontic treatment, they are commonly used in conjunction with bands, ligature ties, elastomeric chains, and anchorage systems.Manufactured using metal injection molding (MIM) technology, buccal tubes guarantee absolute precision in slot dimensions. Additionally, their specially designed beveled edges provide maximum comfort for the patient. There are two types of buccal tubes, 22 and 18, as well as Roth and MBT. Roth's torque is greater than MBT's. There are welding and pasting types, with one hole above and one hole below, two holes above and one hole below, and three holes above and two holes below.

    Direct-Bonded Buccal Tubes
    Banded Buccal Tubes (Welded Type)

Direct-Bonded Buccal Tubes (Single / Double Tube Bonded Type)

These tubes are bandless and feature a mesh base, allowing them to be directly bonded to the buccal surface of molars using resin. This design simplifies clinical procedures and enhances patient comfort, making them the current mainstream choice for adult and routine orthodontic treatments. They are available in two configurations:

Single Tube: Features only one main archwire slot, designed for basic alignment and simple cases.

Double Tube (Main Rectangular Slot + Auxiliary Round Tube): The upper rectangular slot accommodates the main archwire, while the lower small round tube allows for the insertion of sliding hooks or elastomeric chains for traction. This versatile configuration is ideal for complex cases, facilitating space closure after extractions, molar distalization, and anchorage traction.
